I was just wondering who has been already charged for the apple watch pre-order.

I have not been charged yet, and on Apple it is processing and I still have deilvery estimated of 4/24/ to 5/8

You won't be charged until 1-2 days before it ships (during the Prepared to Ship phase). For the iPhone 6 I didn't get charged until the Wednesday before the Friday launch.

I know that is what compnaines do is to charge when it ships I have fingers crossed that I will get my watch on the 24th.

My credit card says that it's pending. I got a notification the moment i placed the order.

my credit card says nothing no pending transaction, no pre-authorization- I think I will probably see something on monday- since it is the weekend

I paid with the Chase debit card via Apple Pay. No activity on my card, but I have the order confirmation with a 4/24 - 5/8 delivery date.

In many states, including mine (NC), it is actually against state law to charge for an item prior to shipment.

Yes, many small companies do this and get away with it. But if a large company like Apple or Amazon tried it? They would immediately attract the interest of those states, and it wouldn't be pretty.

So, no, they aren't going to charge you before shipment. Now, they can reserve part of your credit limit in advance, but they can't actually make you pay until your ship date.

Amazing how much you can learn by working on eCommerce software. :)

$1.00 pending charge so far. In my experience you'll see pending charges come and go until ship date.

I pre-ordered 3 watches, but I only meant to order 2. I had some issues with Apple pay so thats why I ended up with three orders. I was charged full price for the watch I pre-ordered using Apple pay, and on my amex account its also showing two charges for $1, which I'm guessing thats for the other two watches which I pre-ordered using the regular checkout option on the apple app.
