Ive never been impressed w this configurations battery life. I never get 4hours out of it. with lion i get 3:20hours with just surfing.

when i had the 320gb 5400rpm it came with. I was getting around 5hrs.

anybody has the same config that i have? how are you doing with batt life?

I have 500 GB 7200 and i7. It seems that battery life is quite shorter but performance overall is much better.

ya i agree i have an i7 750 15' high res glossy, battery weaker, better performance, higher cpu temps especially when gaming. i used to play sc2 ultra settings with 78º cel now it goes up to 90º used to idle 35º while surfing now lile 45º ;/

vlad and mfka,

So what are your battery readings? my surfing is 3:30hours at mid backlight.

going from 5400rpm to 7200rpm was like night and day. everythig was just faster.

i had hitachi 7200rpm 500gb and now i have scorpio black 7200rpm 750gb. Im not sure if thats also contributing to the low battery. i forgot to check if scorpio consumed more than hitachis.

does hires cost so much more than low-res? like i said ive never had 7-8hrs before i upgraded to 7200rpm

(i also have 8gb RAM by the way...dont know if that makes a diff)

any way to cut down on power consumption? maybe apps running thts constantly checking the internet? does growl consume power?

I have no idea what is causing this battery problem but hopefully it will be considered and fixed soon. I used to have 7-8 hrs streaming full brightness on safari while now half brightness it is 4 hours.
