Who here is not afraid to bring their iPhone camping?
If you do not bring your iPhone do you bring a different phone?

I bring mine but only for the app that wipes my ass. Nice not having to remember to pack the toilet paper.

I've brought my iPhone camping at least a few times in the last year, including field work during the day. No problems.

Just keep it away from the pit toilet. ;)

I've never been REAL camping but I bought it with me to a cabin in Algonquin Park. I didn't use it. There was no cell service and it was nice to be off the grid. I left straight there from work so it was with me though.

I've always taken my iPhone with me when I go camping during festival season. Battery life is poor, but it's convenient to have. It acts as my GPS, flashlight, point and shoot camera and sometimes entertainment :) I charge up when I can, usually during a Tesco run (beer and supplies on site are way too overpriced)

I actually rarely go anywhere without my cell phone, in case of emergency (I usually have to drive to get wherever I am going). Of course, this doesn't help if there's no service wherever you go, but usually there is at least on the road.

I take my phone on holiday but I don't use it for calls really. I mostly use it to take advantage of any Wi-Fi that may be around.

If you find your phone dying while camping, you could always get the Solar iCharge at www.solaricharge.com. This intro model acts as a case, a battery extender and a solar charger (very useful for emergencies). It's a great product as long as you realize that a full charge may day as many as 3-4 days of adequate sunlight to garner a full charge (this is the case with most chargers, we just try to be more honest about it).

The cool thing about Solar iCharge is that they offer a trade-in program. So in the (very likely!) possibility that you get a new iPhone (or if Apple keeps changing those dang pin connectors on us ha), you're able to trade in your old charger and get a pretty decent credit towards another model. Score!

Thanks for spamming your product around the forums. (All of SolarNinja's 11 posts have been about the product.)
I'll also let you know that I'll never support a business that spams other sites.

Also, thanks for reviving a Wally thread.
