No until I know for sure the new m1x 16 released and I know is better. Plus I need a computer now since I'm working at home a lot due to covid.

Apple has yet to offer a MacBook Pro in multi-colors. The rumored iMacs are consumer (prosumer) machines. Don't get me wrong. I'd LOVE a gold MBP, but Apple will likely stick with sterile silver and gloomy gray.

I agree with arche3 - we don't even have a definite release date for M1X MacBooks Pro. The speculation ranges from WWDC all the way to October! Selling mine now could mean a long stretch without a device I really enjoy using.

As for value dropping -- it's already happening. I saw a few Core i9 models on Craigslist asking only $1800, and the suggested selling price on Facebook Marketplace is $1,795 for a $2800 computer.

For better or worse, I sold a Mac mini and 2018 MBP last summer and picked up a maxed out 2019 16" MBP to replace those two machine.

Part of me is thinking I should sell it, part of me is saying I already lost $2k in resale value, it's still a great machine, use it for the long haul.

Plus it runs windows, and the virtualization and docker stories for the Apple Silicon Macs still isn't fleshed out. So meh, we'll see.

I would be very surprised if the m1x mbp 16 will be faster than the 5600m i9 mbp16s.

If it's not I stay put. If it's 50% faster I get new one.

I traded in my 2019 13" mbp and got $855 toward a new M1 MacBook air, which I purchased a base model with the education discount. So I ended up spending like 60 dollars to swap my crap intel butterfly touchbar computer for a sick fanless m1 air with awesome battery life. worked out pretty well.

I am thinking the same and also have the top end MBP. It all comes down to the GPU for me, as really despite the heat, the current I9 is great.
Also running windows is a big deal for me unfortunately.

Otherwise if it is amazing, will sell the 16" and get the M1X [probably 14"] and a PC workstation laptop for 'real work'' :)

I'm thinking this, as well. But I'm concerned about the 16's resale value if everybody is stampeding to sell theirs at the same time.
