Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew what company or companies are making the solid state drives for the macbook air optional hard drive. thanks
 
I think it's Samsung, but I am not sure where I read it.

It would be interresting to know the model number of the SSD, there is pretty big performance difference between the fastest and the slowest SSD's.
 
Thanks for the link, but it doesn't really help in finding out what disk is in the MBA. None of the disks on Newegg are 1.8" 64GB, plus the disk in the MBA might not be on Newegg.

Oops, misread your posts, I thought you were looking at SSDs in general. Samsung has traditionally been one of Apple's favorite suppliers for mobile storage, so they are a good guess. We'll know soon enough when people get their hands on the MBA and disassemble it.
