Who makes the touchpad for the Macbook Pro?

I know Apple worked with Synaptics (maker of most PC TouchPads) on the touch-wheel iPod (2G) way back when, but brought the tech back in-house at some point. Apparently you can use the Synaptics driver for Apple's TrackPad on Linux.

who ever made mine on my unibody macbookpro did a really crappy job. I have to remove the battery and push down on the backside of the pad just so it doesn't sick
