I just got a new 2.2ghz C2D Santa Rosa Macbook for an excellent price, but I was surprised when the xBench came in 25 points less than my 1.5 year old Mac Mini Core Duo.

2.2ghz C2D Macbook - 70.12
1.66ghz CD MacMini - 95.39

In going through the results, it appears there is a HUGE discrepancy with the OpenGL scores;

Macbook - 23.28
MacMini - 184.76

I've heard the drivers on the x3100 aren't up to par yet, but that just seems a little extreme - no?

EDIT: I am about to upgrade to 4gb and a 200gb 7200rpm drive, but I don't think either could rescue a score like that.

The GMA X3100 is essentially crap. It failed worse than the GMA 950 at living up to paper specs.

Real world performance is about on par with the GMA 950, even if benchmarks say otherwise in either direction.

The GMA 950 has the benefit of having stable drivers, however.
