I'm so happy! Apple brought command click for moving windows in Mac OS 10.4!! No you can move them with out moving them into for forground. I could cry. I didn't think they were going to reimpliment it from Mac Os 9. Just took about 5 years.

I actually never liked that feature. It seems cool if you do it intentionally, but I always do it on accident and then im fighting it to stop. But thats just me.

I think that's been there for a while. I remember using it in 10.2 Jaguar.

I'm pretty sure I tried it in Jaguar and it didn't work. But it's been a while. (I don't have Jaguar running on any machines anymore.) I thought the first post was going to be someone who told me it came back in 10.3. :D

Golly!! Thanks Pizzach.. I for one am very happy you told me this! I always swtich to MSN to drag the conversations so that i can see them! This helps me a lot!!

And to grapes911 - yes, the poll is a bit of harmless fun. leave pizzach alone!

Yeah i have 10.3 and it works.

This is also all the way back in OS 8.6, if I remember correctly <--- the earliest MacOS I've used.

Here's to the Crazy Ones

I think this has "always" been there. I've used "every" Mac OS since 7.1 and I cannot remember this being added. Never used it much, though, I've never needed to move a window that's not in the forground already...

I was questioning the poll, because this is nothing new. Even though I don't use it, I can't remember this feature not existing.

Hmm..interesting. I wonder why it didn't work way back when for me then. Might have been something odd like the mouse. All I remember was using it in 9 then noticing i couldn't get it to work in 10. Oh well. No harm no fowel. Just happy I noticed I could to it.

i don't get it, what is it supposed to do?

you hit the apple key n than click on a window and what?

You can move windows in the background without selecting them so that the focus remains on the original window, not the one you're moving. :)

If you apple key + click on a finder window / application you can drag it around and move it behind a currently active window / app, without losing focus on whatever you had in the foreground.

Edit: aw beat by a minute since I was sitting here playing around and dragging my background windows back and forth.. oohh, ahhh.. neat trick it is.

That's if you click on the name/title of the window. :)

hahaha... that is kinda nifty

have no idea when i would really need to use that.. but none the less..thats pretty cool!

It's a neat feature (I found out about it several months ago) but personally I don't have much use for it. I opted for the first statement. I don't think it's poll worthy, but whatever I voted anyways!
