Hi,

I’m curious if anyone has used, or is using Whoop with an AW?

Note: I’ve tried Athlytic, didn’t cut it for me.

Thanks.

I did. What do you want to know?

Just a general experience and was there value in it?

I almost bought one, I needed sleep data, it was supposed to be good at it, but I discovered it doesn’t export sleep O2, which I can get out of the Apple Watch. It just exports the average and I need the detail to prove something to my doctors. I probably have more than enough data, 11,000 records, already.

Honestly, I’m not seeing a lot of value there, I’m pretty skeptical of this kind of thing, but relative to a watch, which gets replaced regularly, it’s kind of cheap all things considered, so I thought I’d ask.

Well first it was kinda interesting but at the end I didn’t gain much info and it was another device I had to charge. Only things I took with it is to use sauna, breakwork etc

The new stress feature was really interesting but at the end I wanted to wear less

Got it, and it’s a weird charge solution.

Thanks.

Yes. I have worn both every day for over 3 years (~970 days)

Whoop sleep, strain and recovery data are superior to anything provided by AW (I currently wear ultra).

Honestly depends on your use case. If you want to make data driven lifestyle and fitness decisions, whoop may help inform the decisions.

You need to DO something with the whoop data however. Otherwise don’t bother.

Would you say Athlytic is a decent replacement for Whoop ? I’m using Whoop with my AW and Garmin and my fear is that Whoop ends up out of business soon and i end up loosing all my history / data .

I don’t find Athlytic to be that accurate.

I’ve used them both side by side for a while, finally just let my Whoop membership expire.

A couple of things. I don’t think they’re going out of business any time soon. I have no inside information on that other than I feel like i tend to see more of them than fewer? Anecdotal to the max.

Secondly, though, and more importantly, you won’t lose the data because you can import it automatically and daily into Apple Health.

As opposed to Athlytic, yeah, I don’t think it’s as accurate as the Whoop for general tracking. Down to single developer vs. corporate team of experts, etc. I will say, though, that HR tracking during exercise (I’m a cyclist primarily) is TERRIBLE, and so the data for that purpose is a little skewed. AW has better HR tracking, and nothing is as good as a chest strap. So, for purposes of workout data your mileage may vary.

As one person above said, if you’re not going to use Whoop data, then don’t bother. Use the AW and Athlytic for general guidance and move on down the road for a lot less money.

I've just taken out a year membership for Athlytic, done a lot of research into Whoope vs AW with Athlytic and for me I just don't think the Whoop is worth the £27 a month it costs, when Athlytic costs that for the year

Now I will say I think the whoops is probably more useful and easier to use, and I'll see how I go, but from a variety of posts on Reddit I don't think one is massively more accurate than the other

I don’t have whoop but ai find Athlytic to not be that accurate.
