So who's had enough with the rumor for over the past month or two about B2S Sale and say, screw it, I'm just going to buy it now? Or continue waiting?
Just wondering.

The promotion will be available very soon, so I guess you could just buy it now and, if the promotion kicks in within 14 days, make use of it afterwards. As far as I know, you can qualify for the promotion on eligible purchases 14 days prior to its start.

I ended up just buying one from Amazon rather than waiting. Sales tax in Chicago made BTS not worth it. I could have avoided sales tax by having my campus store ship my computer out of state and then had someone ship it back in, but that + waiting indefinitely prompted me to decide against it.

i give up on waiting. plus my friend that works at the apple store is telling me it is a $100 gift card. not really worth it.

my sister is going for the $999 mbp from microcenter, but will see if bestbuy will price match to avoid the drive into boston.

Registered just to say that I'm going to pick up my MBP in about an hour.

15 or 17 inch I'm not sure but I already have an iPod (Which I'll be selling whenever I get a decent phone) and I'm not going to wait weeks, or even months to save a day's work worth of money.

Even if the gift card came today I'd only plasticjungle it and get about $90 back...

Education discount too, woo!

I want to recommend Amazon.com if you want to buy a MBP with no tax. Tax is like $90

Bought my 13" base 3 weeks ago at Microcenter. Definitely worth not waiting.

It's so lame how Apple doesnt announce to B2S then make us wait for ages only to find out it's a $100 gift card to iTunes? Not a smart move by Apple. Might as well announce it sooner.

Same here. For folks in high tax states it's worth it.

I can't believe people are complaining about Apple giving them a $100 iTunes card for free. They don't have to give you anything.

Apple has had a consistent sale for the last 5 years, and then this year they are giving half of that. Sounds like a valid complaint to me.

I ended up buying a refurbished Pro last week. It's a better deal, and I need a computer now for class.

If you do the math, buying from Apple is still cheaper for the MBP 13" base model:

1,206 (student discount plus CA 9.75% sales tax)
-100 (when you sell your gift card)
-70 (free printer $99 value minus s/h, paypal fees, ebay fees)
1,036

The one I bought at Microcenter with the 5% discount came out to be 1,039. lol... But for those that don't live close to a Microcenter, it is a good deal if you can go through the hassle of selling the gift card/printer on ebay.

9to5 has a photo of the artwork for the promo and it says nothing about a free printer. http://www.9to5mac.com/72209/apple-back-to-school-delayed-24-hours-begins-tomorrow/

Good luck getting $100 for the iTunes card. You would be lucky to get $60 or $70.

I bought mine today but they're putting the RAM in (I'm lazy what can I say)

I'll be making sure I get this when I pick it up tomorrow.

Apple.com/promo

It's like a secret site. You need to ask.

B2S starts tomorrow. Read front page.

This post was made before they announced it.

Pretty lazy. It's so simple.

I've built desktops for years, I've experienced the (honestly) crapshoot that is RAM... It works, It doesnt, It doesn't run at rated speed, It doesn't pass memtest, It DOES Work but only sometimes!

I'll drop the extra $50 and cut off the 3 day shipping wait time to ensure that I have a working Macbook tomorrow, I'd rather not have any issues considering I've never used OSX (outside of some sub-60 minute encounters)
