How many people plan to be sell their old MBP to get the new models being being announced tomorrow? I think I am going to be one of those that will be selling and getting the newer ones! :)

I don't actually own one, but advice...

It's always nice to upgrade to a new product.

But before you sell up and buy one leave it maybe a week into them being out.

And check the reviews wrote on them, see what others are thinking.

Then make your decision

Not an MBP, but my MBA is on ebay at the moment. Time to return to something with some real power - and most importantly to me, real hard drive space and ports - rather than something uber slim and portable.

Whatever is released tomorrow, it will be bought - with a 500GB HDD :D

I sold mine today, but only because I've been waiting for an Aluminum MacBook to be released since the MacBook Pro's first came out. I don't need pro-level performance, but I've never been a fan of the black or white MacBooks. Anyway, I'm hoping that I'll be able to pick up a great MacBook in the $1000-1200 range.

Im going to try to sell my 2.4GHZ 17 inch glossy 4GB ram, 250gb 7200HD. Reason being I want something smaller. I use the laptop with the external monitor so I rarely need it as a laptop. I want to go down to a 15 inch at most.

Is this a good place to sell it?

I sold my MBP early september because I thought the new ones would come out at the Sept event as many predicted. I was kind of mad when they announced it was an iPod event!

I've been using Windows/Linux for about 2 weeks but I just couldn't take it anymore, so I bought an old used Mac Mini (G4) and that's what I've been using since. Needless to say, it's unbearably slow and I CAN'T WAIT TO GET A DECENT COMPUTER!

Selling my MBP early allowed me to sell it for a very good price though, that's why I wanted to sell before the new ones came out ;-)

the marketplace is an awsome place to buy and sell it. Expect a very safe transaction compared to ebay. You will get slightly less here though, especially because everyone here knows about the updates and people on ebay aren't always as up on their tech. :)

I did this when the Penryn MBP came out...sold my 17" SR MBP and bought the 15" Penryn MBP. But only because I felt the 17" was too cumbersome.

I'll be keeping my 15" penryn MBP for a while now :)

how much do u think i can sell my mbp for?
4months. 2.5 2gb ram 512 video 8600. 200gb 7200rpm. super condition.

Wonder how much I could get for it?

2.4 Core2Duo
250GB 7200 HD
4GB Ram
17 inch glossy display - hardly even used since I have a monitor and reason I am selling for something smaller.

The machine is just amazing, but something smaller would suit my needs far better.

why not! It's all going to depend on how much Steve sells me tomorrow. He's usually really good at making my buy their new product after the event, and for some reason I feel like tomorrow will be no different :)

New MBP's aren't running away.
I have a fairly new MBP that'll probably last at least 2 years. I'll buy one when this one gets old.
