I have an S7. I might try to find a deal on an S10. Are there any actual differences between the 10 and 11?

I have a 7 as well and my wife still has a 6. We would get the non-LTE version if we upgrade.

I always use a screen protector on mine, but my wife doesn't and her 6 definitely has some scratches on it.

Trying to decide the same....10 or 11?

Yes, there are two:

-5G
-2x scratch resistant screen
Ahh. I don't get the cellular version, only GPS. So it's literally the exact same device except for the glass? That hardly seems worth a new number in the Apple ecosystem.

So I pulled the trigger to upgrade from the 7 to the 11. For me my battery life is abysmal on my 7 so an upgrade to that is worth it. But I also went from 38mm to 46mm version. Plus the new wrist gestures and the hypertension and sleep apnea health upgrades are worth it to me to test out. The upgrades are worth it to me but not justifiable to upgrade to the Ultra versions. The cost alone is not worth for the few upgrades of the Ultra.

I have a 7 and am upgrading to 11. I suppose if one could find a deal on the 10 that would make sense, but I don't want to bother. The main reason is my battery life on 7 has been degraded. I think all the upgrades from 7 to 11 feel decent, if not amazing. Kinda bummed its still wifi 4. (I understand its for power efficiency, but I think low power wifi 6 exists now)

Its also because I'm upgrading from 13pro to Air, and AirPods Pro 2 to 3. Let's just exit Lightning all at once and have the new ecosystem is my thinking.

One question I have for others here: my 7 45mm often gives me incorrect sleep measurements, thinking I woke up. Does this mean its too big for my wrist? Anyone else have this problem? I am thinking of going to smaller size (42mm) with the 11 because of this, but I kinda like the bigger style.

My Series 7 Midnight Green is a my “dark” Apple Watch. Not a huge fan of Jet Black, and Space Grey 11 looks too light. If I upgrade, I am looking at alternates. I could do a refurbished Series 10 in Slate Titanium (available on Apple). I could do a black AWU3 if I want to spend the money. I could even be convinced on the new SE.

I have the same thing happen to me and I have the 38mm 7. Do you toss and turn a lot? I do and I think it registers as being awake if you move your arms or wrist a lot while toss and turning. That seems to be what I've been able to find out when looking at the sleep while remembering if I tossed and turned at the exact time which it almost always matches. Maybe with the 11 it can be different? I did upgrade my size from 38 to 46 so I'll have to test this theory out.

I was wearing my old S4 while sleeping and wearing my S7 during the day. The S4 fell on my bathroom floor, literally shattering the glass. So now i'm wearing my S1 while sleeping. Just to have the alarm on my wrist. Now I'm thinking of upgrading to S11 for daytime use- and wearing the S7 while sleeping. Does this make sense?? lol. Battery health for the S7 is 91%..

I was considering getting the 10 now, but then I swapped the s7 for a new battery at Apple and now don’t really feel the need.

I have a Series 7, ordered a Series 10 refurbished as the 11 wasn't a big enough step up for the money for me.

Kind of regret it, as I can't for the life of me get the Series 10 to update to WatchOS 26... Series 7 took around 2 hours (!) to update to it. Feeling like I've done something wrong...

I’m upgrading from the 7 but I’m having a hard time deciding between going with the 11 or the ultra 3.
I went for the ultra 3, from a 7, I have a few chips on the edge of the glass, and I think the raised lip will protect it better, plus better, well less bad battery life (I have a Garmin at the moment until Friday)

Hopefully we see one of those Walmart deals selling a titanium S10 for low 400s later this year. Then I might upgrade my stainless S7 which was purchased that way, when S8 came out and Walmart was clearing out stock of S10s.

I just got a S10 Titanium 42mm refurb (from Apple) for £479. Was toying with replacing my S7 aluminium/cellular with an S11 aluminium/cellular. Was only being offered £50 trade-in for my S7 which had a new battery last year. So for an extra £10 over what I was going to spend, I miss out on a couple of minor new features, get the better case and glass, and my daughter gets a nice hand-me-down.

I upgraded from S7 to S11. Some of the most immediately noticeable benefits:
  • Bigger screen and thinner metal casing
  • Feels noticeably thinner
  • Watch face refreshing every second
  • Wrist flick and double tap gestures
And these will be very nice additions:
  • Hypertension and sleep apnea detection
  • Water temperature (swimming) and depth gauge for occasional snorkeling
  • Longer battery life (my S7 is down to 79%)
  • Faster and more efficient A16-based S10 processor
  • More scratch resistant glass (I got the aluminum)
  • 5G (I have the cellular model)
Granted, most of these are in S10 as well, but S7 to S11 is very dramatic.

What does that mean exactly? Is it only noticeable with the seconds hand? Or do complications update more often (every second if needed?)
When the Apple Watch Ultra 4’s LPTO3 display enters always-on display mode, it can update every second. This means that every single element on the display can be redrawn every second.

Unfortunately, as of watchOS 26, only the second hand or clock digit utilize this feature. The complications that could benefit from this, such as the timer and stopwatch, are not yet supported.

Ok interesting, thanks for sharing, that seems to be the case for me as well. I actually don't sleep well, I probably do toss and turn although I'm unaware, so the watch is correct in that way, but I'm not waking up like how it thinks I am. The first night with my S11 42mm it registered my sleep basically the same, still showing the spikes waking up, so I guess it wasn't a size issue.

I guess thats good, as well as what you're saying, means I could get either size and the watch works correctly. I have to admit though the smaller size probably just fits me better, its more snug without being wobbly or overly tight. With the big one I had to make it really tight or it would always kinda wobble. I think I will keep the 42mm, even though I miss a little screen size its nice, probably right fit for me. I do like how its thinner now (compared to S7) too. Solid upgrade I think, battery life is way better so far.

I am going to test for sleep apnea now as well, maybe that will help explain it.

I use my S7 to track where I am when playing golf, via a Tag Heuer app. Lately the battery drain during a 18 hole round takes the battery down to 20% or so by the end. I suspect that in the not too distant future the battery will deplete before the end of a round. At this point I will get a more modern Apple Watch, probably a refurbished S10.
