When tech bloggers say that the new iPad is only an iterative upgrade, I have to laugh.
If anything, the iPad 2 was the iteration(spec-wise).
It seems like Apple's strategy is to have one major(hardware) upgrade year, then an iterative year, and so on.
2008 brought us the iPhone 3G and unibody notebooks. 2009? that was iterative on the hardware(iPhone 3GS), whereas 2010 was the big year (iPad, iPhone 4, new MacBook Air).
2011 was similar to 2009(iPad 2, no major notebook revision, iPhone 4S).
I think 2012 is beginning to look like the next 'big' year(new iPad, new iPhone, and I guess major notebook revisions).
