Hi,

I have been experimenting with many bittorrent clients for mac (utorrent, vuze, transmision, tomatotorrent) and they are all consistently slower to download a file that the original Bittorrent client for Windows. I compared them downloading the same file at the same time (the windows client running under parallels), and always the windows client beats the hell of the others. Is there a mac client comparably fast to the windows one?

What's your ISP? Some have it throttled.

You might have to enable encryption,
none of the Mac torrent clients have encryption enabled by default,
but prefers encrypted clients by default.

Note that only some of those clients have encryption option, for example Vuze has it.

I've noticed this also, i think it was to do with the fact that a lot of the easy manual windows teaks cannot be done so easily on the mac(perfect example would be adjusting the tcp/ip rwin value).. any who, i've kinda given up on bittorrents and almost use usenet/newgroups exclusively.. i only use bittorrents if i cannot find something on usenet, does anyone know how to adjust the rwin on the mac? this would definitely help with download speed.. =/
