Hi

I just installed a completely fresh Yosemite public beta on a 25 GB partition of my MacBooks SSD. Looks wonderful, really enjoying playing around with it.

I have a question though, why have my tags come over to the new operating system. I haven't installed a single app or moved across any files or folders, yet my tags for my 'current projects' and 'work' are sat there on my new OS including some of the files (minus some of the larger DMG files).

I was under the impression tagging was just an organisation feature and not linked to iCloud etc (unless you've tagged the files through iCloud).

If you have the Mavericks partition mounted and accessible from Yosemite, Spotlight has indexed it, and picked up the tags.
