Why are my texts gone?

Recently, I've noticed that my texts are not showing up in my notification history. I get them and can respond to them on my watch as always, but when I pull down my notifications, all I see are news headlines and none of the texts. In the past, they would be there chronologically along with my other notifications. I haven't changed anything and I can't find a setting that I think would fix it.

This was happening before I upgraded my phone to ios9, but is still happening.

Anyone know how to fix this?

When you check them on your watch they should no longer show in notifications because you have dealt with them. If your watch is not available for some reason and you only get the notice on your phone they will be in your notifications list.
