All of the iPhones and iPads at work today showed Sept. 21, 2012 as the date instead of August 21, 2012.

This happened on all units that had the date and time set to "Set Automatically" in the General setting of the Settings App. Our IT coordinator said he noticed that his switched back and forth between the two dates several times, but was usually on Sept 21. He also thinks that it may be that AT&T may be testing equipment for a Sept 21 roll out of the new iPads and iPhones.

Has anyone else noticed this?

My iPad right now will show Sept 21 if I set it to Auto.

I read about this on the Apple forums. No matter what they tried, the iPhone still showed September 21. My phone is set to auto and still shows August 21, not September 21 like those people are claiming.

You do know that today's date is 8/21, right?
August - 8th month
September - 9th month
and
Today is the 21st (not the 12th)

Yep, and all my iPhones and iPads are showing the date as August 21st, well 21st August actually but that's because I live on the other side of the pond ;)

That is strange. I just checked mine and obviously it shows the 21st because today is the 21st, but when I opened the calendar app it showed September 21st, not August 21st. I tapped the "today" button and it still showed September 21st. Force quiting and reopening the app also didn't change anything.

Are people really that dumb that they didnt noticed a small typo?

Regarding the date, might mean something

To everyone who pointed out my Typo, please note that it is corrected. My iPhone still indicates Friday September 21, 2012 instead of Tuesday August 21, 2012.

I assume that all those who can find typos cannot find an answer for why this is happening. Not just to my iPhone and iPad but to at least 4 others as well.

Looking at the Apple support forum thread, seems to be happening to AT&T users in parts of Illinois and parts of Indiana. Are you in that vicinity too?

If so, you can disable the Set Automatically option on the devices and wait until it all settles down. If it is a localized carrier glitch, it will probably go away as suddenly as it arrived. I'd just go without Auto time for a few days.

First there was 9/11, now .....9/12!!!!!!! The new biggest day in history! Why? Because its the new iPhone revolution!!
