If you buy the 8 plus you may end up wanting to upgrade to the X plus next year and would be more than £1000.

If you buy the 4.7" or X you would never feel the urge to buy the 6" model likely costing £1500.

Buying anything now will be more "expensive" since there's always something better coming.

I think if I had the plus model now I would feel let down by the X being smaller. Yes it's got a bigger screen but it but it will feel smaller.

Doesn't really make sense. I thought those people who buy iPhone X are those people who want to own the latest iPhone models, so they will likely to upgrade to X Plus next year.

True but I thought people liked the option of a larger screen. Maybe they will do a 4.7" X.

4.7" X? That likes making an iPhone SE size with a bezel-less 4.7" screen, I doubt Apple is going to bother with that now.

Yes I believe almost everyone like a larger screen, but larger screen also means larger phone generally. iPhone X's bezel-less design (just like a number of Android phones before it) is one way of cramping as large as possible screen into the smallest possible phone. It gets to a point when he/she will find the phone is getting too large to hold and use.
