Now I admit I haven’t tried to answer a message on my watch for a long time. And I can’t even think of if I’ve done it since I upgraded from a 3 to an se. It’s just not something I do.

the other day was in a meeting and got a text message and went to answer it by writing the answer on my watch with my finger Which I know I could do at some stage in the past. But when I tap on it it fires up a keyboard on my phone. What use is that ? I didn’t even notice it had done that the first time as my phone was in my pocket which is why I wanted to answer on my watch.

I could also dictate it but I just want to scribble something on my watch like I used to. I figure I’ve missed something obvious so apologies in advance.

Tap the small keyboard icon bottom-right when you see the keyboard and then you can switch to scribble by tapping the middle icon that appears on the next screen.

I'm not sure that there is an option that you can choose to make this the default, though.

Thank you. I’d never have found it. On my watch it was a microphone icon. Maybe a but with the 26 beta. But I press that and switch it to scribble and it looks like it stays on that now.
