Why can we still not subscribe to podcasts on the iPhone?

So, since Apple went computer free with iOS5, why has a subscription model not been implemented for podcasts on the iphone? It should check regularly and download new episodes of the casts you listen to. Without a PC/Mac, it would be impossible to ever subscribe at this point.

Seems like a feature that is long, long overdue. Can't believe it hasn't happened yet - so much that I feel like I'm doing it wrong. I mean, it has to be there, right? It's logical.

I think you're right. I have yet to see any kind of subscription for podcasts in iOS 5. Seems odd to me too. I guess if you're "PC Free", you need to check for new podcasts either daily or weekly.

Get downcast, you will thank me later. I was beyond frustrated with how iTunes handled podcasts and bought downcast and have been happy ever since. It's well worth the money.
