hey all, i was just hiding all of my apps before i put my mbp to sleep. and i only have ichat, safari, and the finder open (obviously). and i could only hide one of the 2 (ichat or safari) when i try to hide the other, i hear that annoying beep alert sound that pretty much says i cant hide it. why is that? i used to be able to hide all my apps, no matter how many i had open. anyway to get past this? in a setting or something?

thanks!

Make Finder the active app, press command + option + H. That will hide everything except Finder. Is that what you're looking for?

wow, NICE!!!!!! thanks! now i gotta find out more short cuts like this!!!

+1 again, i love macrumors.com :D makes my mac experience so much better and easier ;)

Then again, it is kinda dorky that you have to remember keystrokes to hide stuff. My head is stuffed already with CS5 shortcuts.

Most shortcut commands are also in the menus if you go looking for them. The Hide command is right there under the Application menu (ie, Finder, iTunes, Safari, etc.). Sometimes it's easier to remember a shortcut than the location in a menu.
