I use the screen sharing app to connect to my brother's Windows 7 PC remotely, from my Macbook Pro Retina running El Capitan. Normally his Windows 7 desktop appears black, but I can see all of his shortcuts, and run most applications. However, I tried to setup Dashlane for him, and I cannot see the application. I can see the shortcut at the bottom which indicates it is running. My brother can see the Dashlane app, but I cannot.

I tried reducing his screen resolution, rebooting his computer, and changing the quality of the display in the setting of the Mac screen sharing app, but still, I cannot see the app.

Any ideas of what I can do so I can see this app?
