Why can't I set this program to open this file automatically??

Hey people,

I have files called .bmx. They are BlitzMax files, and they officially open with the MaxIDE app. I choose "Get Info" on a .bmx file. And then under "Open with", I find and choose the MaxIDE app. Here it also tells me that it is unknown if MaxIDE can open documents (it can). I then click "Change all". It then asks me if I'm sure I want to do that, and of course I am (I have done that a lot of times).. But then this happens..

I have tried a few times, and tried to restart the system. I have no idea how to fix this particular problem. What's up? Anybody know what this is?

Have you asked this over at blitz? Perhaps their application will not accept a parameter when it is launched. The parameter blitz may be refusing to accept is the file name - automatically passed along by OS X when you doubleclick the bmx file.

Oh.. I thought it was a basic thing OS X just "did" with any program.. Didn't know they had to be programmed for it. So yes.. Guess I'm gonna ask at the Blitz forums.
