Why can't I transfer files to HardDisc?

I tried to copy my files and trying to paste it to the hard disk but it doesn't show paste when I left click it.. Even when I press on "command" key and "v" to paste it, it doesn't show:confused:.. Also I thought to just drag the files to the hard disk on left but it didn't work out too.. Is there something problem with my laptop? Wha can I do about it?
