Whats up guys, This is my first iPhone, and everytime I try to type ****, it changes it to duck...its getting realy annoying. Anyone know how to get around this? does the iphone eventually learn? Too many people are asking me about my recent obsession with ducks are...

can't you just touch the little "autocorrect" bubble that is suggesting duck? that's what i do....

I used to type it all the time on my 1st gen iPhone, but on the 3G, no love, and it never seems to learn. I use that word way too much, so if it were ever going to learn, it would have done so by now.

Just keep f**king, and maybe one day, we'll get lucky!

If you really want to know how to do it, as it were, tap the word on the screen after you type, and it will enter the letters you typed rather than assuming you are obsessed with ducks.

It takes a while to learn. My iPhone now even understands Klingon, now just to get the actual language pack. It also understands Hawai'ian and Japanish.

I believe that when you type a word, and another word is recommended, in this case 'duck,' tap on the duck pop-up and the word you typed will be left un-altered. I think it learns not to correct words after a while, but I'm not sure.

It took me a few times of typing f**k for it to stop 'correcting' it. It also took several times for it to stop trying to 'correct' Ntombi, but it finally learned!

I just tries typing it in. First time it popped up with duck. I click the x in the little suggestion bubble. Same thing on my second attempt in the sentence, but on the third it just left it alone and did not suggest anything.

Yep, if you persist the ducker will learn your favorite words. Ducking brilliant.

Is this the Nihonjin equivalent of us accusing them of speaking Engrish? :D

Japanish: Slang term for the Japanese language as spoken by people who are not native Japanese. Usually catch phrases picked up by watching way too much anime.

I often use the Latin Alphabet to approximate Japanese words when I'm e-mailing or txting.

This is the best damn thread that has ever been on here. I love that word and i think that it is not used enough. a good (duck) is needed at least 10 times a day. I can't stop laughing. And the guy who asked if it was a mormon phone is genius. I love MR.:D

if you want a quick work around, make a contact called '****'. then when you type it, it'll not suggest anything thinking you are typing the name of a contact.

If you send yourself a ducking email full of shot like that, the ducking iPhone will remember it and you can duck all ducking day long. :D

One other funny thing I notice is that when you type "one sec," it suggests the word sex even if you have never typed it before. OOPS!! I sent that to one of my friends (a girl) without looking at what it had suggested and had to quickly explain that my phone had a dirty mind. Thankfully, she understood. :D

LMAO that made my day!

Just type it a few times, refusing the edit each time. It will pick up.

Applies to any word, obviously.
