Why can't they update Facetime to HD?

I don't really mind for an iPhone, but I really hope in the future they consider it (really want it for an iPad).

Oh, is it HD only for iPhone? I've only used Facetime on iPod Touch and iPad and it was terrible quality.

If iPhone is HD for Facetime, this makes me even more excited getting my first iPhone!

They clearly stated that the facetime camera in the iPhone 5 is 720p. That's HD.
