Why can't we, in the UK, pre-order the new iPhone?

I don't want to be stuck in a queue of 30000 people - I think we should adopt the same logic the US has (apart from the lack of support At&T generally have provided about the new update... glad I am in the UK re: immediate MMS!) and O2 should offer the chance for us to pre-order it. I haven't noticed any opportunity for us to do do so. Let's hope they introduce one in the future...

(Unless I am wrong - and there is a way to pre-order... please let me know!)

Apparently, Carphone Warehouse are allowing people to pre-order tomorrow (10th June). Google it and take a look. That's what I'll be doing.
