Why did apple leave of the 16GB or 32GB off the back of the iPhone?

Looks cleaner and nicer without it! I hope they keep it off!

Maybe it makes the new manufacturing process easier?

I liked having it there since I have the 32 GB and my wife has the 16 GB makes it easier to distinguish between them

Wow,, that is a good reason :). Hum

I kinda wish Apple offered the same engraving they do on the iPods. Not sure that would work in the glass, the printing thats on it may be under a layer of glass. Wont know till I get it :D:D

Just so you could start this thread about why.

I am glad they did I do not need a little number to tell me what I have...

I think a better question is why the hell was it ever there in the first place. I can't imagine how Steve didn't pitch a fit about all the crap they put on the back of an iPhone.

I would have thought Apple would get a special exemption not to have to put all the FCC crap on there and everything, and have the only thing on the back be the Apple logo.

I'm glad it's gone. Now I wish they could get rid of the other junk.

When I first got my 3GS and gave my 7-year-old the 3G, I was in a hurry and grabbed the wrong phone one morning. The whole day sucked. I felt like I was missing everything and I was. I truly realized that I needed my calendar, email, text and phone at my side.

I realized my mistake when in Atlanta traffic I tried to play a little 80's music and realized all I had was Hannah Montana.
