why did apple take out the split keyboard?

I have a 12.9" iPad Pro and would like to use the split keyboard. None of the directions to bring it up were working so I went to the apple support site and noticed in subtle gray text "The split keyboard isn't available on iPad Pro (12.9-inch) or iPad Pro 11-inch."

Why has apple disabled the split keyboard in the iPad Pro?

We had a couple of threads on this a while back, even John Gruber and 9to5 wrote about this but for some reason, Apple isn’t listening.

You should go to apple's site and give feedback about the split keyboard. It's the reason I returned my 11” Pro and have stuck with my 10.5” Pro.
