Just interested. I have an old Pismo that worked fine (8 years) then suddenly.... crashes, freezing and Kernal panics... first time round I replaced
some RAM and even replaced the OS... it worked again for about 6 months... then the same thing happened again... freezing, KP's... wouldn't reboot etc. Checked out this site and somebody suggested pulling the PRAM battery connection... Did this and it rebooted from the old CC cloned OS. Reinstalled my old RAM and its been working fine ever since....( 6 months),although I rarely turn it off now...Just sleep. But even when I have to turn it off, it does reboot correctly. although I do hold my breath while doing it.
Can anybody explain why? in simple terms please.
Thanks
