Why did they move the backspace on the phone's keypad to the top right corner?

It was perfect where it was, now it's a huge stretch esp on the 6/6 plus. I always go to delete a number and am amazed every time at how unusual and inconvenient the new location is.

Maybe they figured not too many people make mistakes with such a large keyboard, but yeah they need to fine-tune the format of some apps especially on the 6+.
