So on iPhone X you have to swipe up half way to get to multitasking and a full swipe down from the right to get to control center. Why not just do what the iPad has. Either swipe all the way up to get your multitasker and control center. Or swipe halfway and get multitasker and control center. So then swiping down would be just the Notification Center/lockscreen. It would’ve made getting to control center much easier. They could’ve made it multitasker on the left and then when you swipe all the way left you have control center there. Just merge the two like on iPad.
 
they didn't have time to think. tim cook returned from his corporate political crusade, decided to take a look at what the competition was doing, spit his coffee out, and then had 8 months to put something radically different together. they are in panic mode right now because not only is the hardware design under heavy scrutiny, but their software engineers now need to take shortcuts in order to make the deadline.
