Why didnt apple make the new LCD work with iMac

damn that would have been perfect it would look so nice to have the iMac screen and the matching 24" screen next to it. I guess steve didnt feel we should have all that screen space and 24" was more than enough so why even give us the option. I'm sure some apple defenders who agree will bash me. But its no matter how big your screen is, its not the same as having 2 screens. Hopefully apple will release an adapter.

Heck the new screen only works with three computers.....new MBP, MB and MBA. I think there is a bigger oversight here then just hooking it upto an Imac

I think it's an incentive to update your iMac to the next revision...

Or maybe since mini-displayport is an open spec somebody else will come up with an adapter?
