Seems like a perfect place to set your iPods or Phone and charge it. This Mac mini M4 is sweet, but thats one improvement I think would be awesome. Love to just drop my phone on top of it when at my desk and have it charge.

Because the chassis is made of aluminum.

If they made it from glass, the challenge would be same as AirPower. Otherwise, people wouldn’t be happy that such a large surface has such a small charging area.

Agree with @Benhama about heat, but @JPack reminded me of the original. I couldn't resist the 2024 mini, but would've been love struck by a glass top recalling the original.

Where would the power come from? The Mini - esp. the M4 Pro Mini - are already doing quite well by including an Internal power supply in such a small box - a bigger power supply would likely cause space and heat problems. Plus the cost, of course.

Why would you want to add even more heat to the mini that everyone is complaining about being too hot as is…

As everyone is saying, It would ruin thermals. That's the problem with the third party stacks also. It used to be the bottom stacks would ruin wifi. Now it's going to mess up the nice thermals on top. And it kinda looks cool the way it is.
