Just got a 2020 MacBook Pro 13. I'm not vehemently against the Touch Bar, though I do understand why people don't like it. But it occurred to me that it might be more useful had they put it at between the trackpad and the keys (bottom row of keyboard) or even made it part of a(n even larger) track pad in some sort of configuration.

I assume this has been discussed before, but I haven't found it, so I just thought I'd throw it out there.

For me the Touch Bar is useless and it convenient. I really don’t know why Apple insist in this kind of technology. The simple action like sound higher, play and stop aren’t there. Accidentally erase emails, or put Siri on. That was the main reason why I bought a stand for my MBP 16’ 2019 and a magic keyboard. My quality of tiping return.

What? Making the sound louder is there. And you just need to press and swipe left or right. Playback controls are there in the expanded toolbar. It’s customizable... you can eliminate the Siri shortcut (I did). Your gripes with the Touch Bar sound more like you don’t know how to use it. The only thing I wish the Touch Bar had that it doesn’t is haptic feedback.

It’s meant to be a more versatile row of function keys, so it makes sense to place it where the function keys used to be.
