i ordered a macbook because i do not believe another is out anytime or a small upgrade so i got this pretty cheap as i sold my razer for a good price and got this again

my question is i do not feel for what i want to do i need cpu intensive but i would rather upgrade the gpu

my question is by doing that delivery went from today to dec 5th how come that long

Exactly, they're "built to order". Apple keeps the most common configurations in stock, but less common configurations are probably built in smaller batches every now and then.

Because in most cases they have to be built in the factory in china and shipped to you. This takes time...

As others have mentioned, custom.

What could be adding to the time is that the motherboards are maybe made at one factory, then needs to be shipped to the factory where assembly is done. Throw in shipping of about three business days, minimum, to customer.

Just in Time Manufacturing: not keeping inventory of every configuration lying around idle and counting against one's bottom-line.

Gaming laptops are pretty much the same if you order ODM laptops, like Clevo, Sager, ect. The ones that aren't custom are built in bulk and can be shipped pretty fast. Most people will buy the default layout, in which they have tons ready to ship.

you know what i noticed custom macbooks always have backlight bleed....the ones in store never do
