Seriously, why?

Don't say cost, because cost is not an issue to many.

why is it so hard to find an s-ips display?

It seems these high-quality displays that used to be part of most macs, whether an Imac, a Powerbook, or whatever are extremely difficult to come by.

and why all the secrecy?

Finding out actual specs for a display seem almost impossible.

OK, sure TN displays have fast refresh and are cheap–perfect for gaming.

However, most Mac folks do not seem to mind paying a premium for hardware & a huge percentage come from a graphic design background....so I am really surprised there is not more talk about the mass implementation of TN displays for most new macs, including the professional level Macbook pro....

(this is where a fanboi tell me to get an ACD, right?)

actually, I am not just talking about Apple, but the whole computer industry going away from s-ips displays

what the heck are s-ips displays made out of some sort of unrenewable resource that we are running out of?

just wondering.
