Why do I get banned for being insulted?

Honestly, I just came back after my SECOND ban because someone insulted me! I know I responded to the insults but is that really a reason to ban me for a week? I was taught to stand up for myself anyway, and I dont think I should get banned for it.

Also, I hope the guy who insulted me got banned too, or thats just ridiculous.

Dude, I've been here for years and got banned once. I deserved it. Even though I was defending myself, I was still out of line. Learn to stay cool and you'll be alright.
