I take all of my photos and put them onto my Macbook into a folder called "Pictures" and then into a sub folder name "iPhone Photos". Now in itunes when I sync I have selected to sync the photos from "iPhone Photos" but now I have 3 photo albums named:

Camera Roll
Photo Library
iPhone Photos

I'm sure its me not understanding what's going on but I believe I would need to have 2 photo albums [not 3] because 1 is for the pictures that I actually take with the camera named "Camera Roll" and then another one for pictures that I sync. How can I merge these into 2 albums because 2 of the albums have the identical photos in it.

if you had multiple folder synced to your phone

(i.e. iPhone Photos, iPhone Photos 2) for whatever reason...

the Photo Library would have all of them
that way if you had several folders synced, you could go to the specific one to browse pictures, but if you needed to find a certain picture and didn't know which folder it was in you could go to the Phot Library folder

I have this same problem and it seems like I have a duplicate of every picture and it just takes up space. Is there a way to get rid of them in the photo library?

The Photo Library is not taking up space. It just repeats all the pics you have in folders, so you can look at them all if you want. See one of the posts above. It's just a link to the pic, if you will.

Go look at your music in iTunes.

See at the top how it says 'Library' and it has all your music?

Then see below where you have 'Playlists' that contain whatever music you put in there to keep them seperate?

It's just like that.

Library = Photo Library
Playlists = The photo folders below the Photo Library

This is what works for me when I add wallpapers and it creates the Photo Library again in my photos (I have Camera Roll and I added a folder named Wallpaper):
-Find the folder on your computer and change the name of it
-Connect your phone to your computer and select it in iTunes
-Select the Photos tab
-You'll notice that the new folder name is there, and unselected, select it and sync

If that doesn't work:
-Deselect the new folder and sync to remove the photos
-Change the name again (back to the original) and sync again, should be ok

That fixes it for me, but I'm on XP Pro. Don't know about other OS' or OSX.
