Why do I have 8 "birthday" calendars in my iPad calendar??

I have 8 "birthday" calendars in my ipad calendar. And I notice that EVERY TIME I sync it, i get another one. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have iCloud turned on?

Try turning it off then on because each time you sync iTunes and iCloud compete for the calendar title. There are some apple.com threads that discuss this but I don't have a link, sorry.
