Why do I have the geofence icon showing?

Hi guys,

Wonder if anyone can say why I have the geofence icon showing next the battery icon? I think that's what it is, it's the gps icon but not solid, just the outline.

Any way I can find out why it's there? I don't have any notify me things set up in find my friends, and don't use the reminders app...

Any help appreciated!

Does anyone else have issue with some apps keeping geofence location lock on?

After I ran groupon app and fruit ninja app. My geofence location is always on for those two apps unless I turne off location services for those apps. It's annoying to have a geofence location always on in your status bar.

That's what I wondered! Apparently for advertising purposes.

Groupon was the one causing that for me.
I disabled it in location services and went away.

Apps suppose to ask you first if you allow, once, during initial set up, but u can always explicitly disable it afterwards under settings ->
