Why do I have to buy a 5.5" iPhone to get the best features?

Why is Apple pushing folks towards a humongous 5.5" model if I want to get all the best features of the phone (OIS, better battery life, 1080p)? Even Samsung and HTC flaghips are smaller than 5.5". I don't get it at all. Was the 6.9 mm thickness (or thinness) that important that we had to give all of this up on the 4.7" phone? This is ridiculous. Very disappointed.

Well. OIS probably needed more room. And the bigger screen needs more pixel density and s bigger battery gives longer life, but also requires the phone to be bigger.
