Hi, just got my 1st ever iPad, loving it...

I have an iPhone 4, and the daughter an iPod touch 4G, my iPhone 4 has an iPod app that integrates video, music etc in it, whereas touch and now iPad has a video app and an iPod app - why? why cant they all be in one iPod app? much more seamless and integrated to me?

cheers

My guess is that they integrated them on the iPhone to save space -- iPhone has at least two extra icons than iPod, for the phone and SMS apps. Now that we have the app store and people have pages and pages of apps, it's no longer a consideration, but on the first gen iPhones and iPod touch, icons for the pre-installed apps fit on one page. While I agree with you that having video and music in one iPod app feels more intuitive, Apple must prefer having them separate.
