Looks like a simple typo on the chart. If you move your eyes slightly in a downward motion on that webpage (here's the link), you will see another exhibit that shows actual percentages

Android is enjoying an 85% marketshare up from 81.4 from the prior quarter, vs. iOS shrinking to 14.7%.

Ha. Good eye. Got both Android and iOS incorrect.

I sent them an email. Probably some new intern did it ;)

As for IDC in general, Tim Cook himself often quotes them in his quarterly report calls.

Not just T. Cook, but many industry bigwigs use, and trust IDC.

On the chart, I'm surprised to still see Windows phones, like BlackBerry it should be cratering to oblivion.

Hi that would be too simple. It is much easier to complain about the company.

Yeah, it's like complaining that your iPhone came scratched from the factory and never telling Apple. It's a valid complaint, but you also have to give them a chance to fix things.

Btw, IDC also sent a Thank You note in response.

And I bet they vet every chart from now on :D

Not buying.
What is there not to buy? Mistakes happen, and IDC quickly corrected it after being notified. I mean instead of jumping to conclusions and posting a thread ridiculing them, you could see the detail numbers below the chart showed the correct percentages, so clearly a mistake was made in producing the first chart. I don't know if you ever worked in an office setting, but on occasion, people do make mistakes in producing documents, exhibits and spreadsheets

Their job is to sell trust, I'm not buying.

Because of typo? lol, well I'm sure IDC can recover from the lost revenue

So Apple's job is to sell phones, did you stop buying their phones when antenna gate came to be, or when their phones were bending?
