Why do pics resized in Picasa look washed out???

I find this extremely annoying that each pic I resize in Picasa looks washed out afterwards.

Why is it like that?? How to fix it?

Try resizing in preview instead..

For your own benefit check Picasa's Terms and conditions unless you don't mind giving all the rights to your Photos and graphics to google..

I know, Preview resizes the pics fine, but then again Picasa is a much neater and user-friendly app....

As far as giving the rights to my photos/graphics to Google - I suppose that policy is only relevant if you upload pics resized in Picasa straight to the Picasa photo album online?
