I’m looking for a lightly used Starlight Apple Watch. I’ve noticed that some GPS-only models have a light crown, while others have a dark one. Is there any rhyme or reason to this or is it just random?

Attached are photos of two examples among many

You are 100% sure both of those are GPS only models? I know before it was the Red dot for the Cellular and could the darker one actually be a cellular model?

It's probably just the lighting/angle, similar to how one watch looks more gold and the other looks more silver. The center of the crown is a bit more reflective than the body of the watch and can shift colors/brightness. You can see that effect in the two videos below.

All cellular models since the Series 4 have a red ring, instead of the dot that was seen on the Series 3.

Thanks, I didn't realize the crown was reflective
