Why does App Store ask for credit card on my Ipad 3rd gen?

I was trying to buy Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2 on the App Store, I have £18 on my account by buying Itune cards in the past. Why am I unable to buy the game even though the game cost £2?

I have no issue buying in game purchase like Bleach Brave Souls.

I forgot to mention I don't have any Credit Card or Debit Card on my account.

They love to have your credit/debit card but if you have funds in your iTunes account it should allow them to use it. I would give them a call and ask what is going on.

On my PC my Itune account shows I have £18, as for my Ipad I have to check. Sorry I taken long to reply, working and studying takes a lot of time especially when I have homework.

I believe the App store requires a working credit card to be associated with your account, in order to make purchases, no matter if you actually need to draw money from it or not.
