It seems everyone hates FOX's coverage of baseball...and Tim McCarver and Joe Buck. In fact, I love baseball on FOX. It's something about October, baseball, and those voices makes me excited. I cannot stand the way ESPN or ABC for that matter does baseball games.

Go yankeesss

Fox has, by far, the best presentation of ALL of the sports they cover... football, baseball, you name it.

And 720p vs. 1080i? Well, that's a no-brainer... 720p can be displayed natively on all plasma and LCD TVs, while 1080i would have to be downconverted. So, you get the advantage of progressive scan and the same resolution as a downconverted 1080i signal.

[still waiting for 1080p broadcasts... my gear can handle 'em, but no one's doing it yet]

What everyone i have ever talked with in person agreed with me that Tim McCarver is a moron, is no one here going to agree with me?

And the only reason Joe Buck has a job in sports (that he doesn't deserve in my opinion) is because of who his father was.

Honestly my friend and i were watching a Diamondbacks game on some Saturday, and i think at least 20 times we heard McCarver saying how lucking Arizona was to win the WS in 2001(?) that they New York Chokers should have won it.

Give me Jerry Remy any day.

I agree. He was the Giants announcer for a while. Wow what a fool. I watched the game on mute with the radio in the background. I just can't stand the way he talks about pointless stories. I'm a big fan of Mike Krukow and Dwayne Kuiper. I find their insight actually interesting and relevant.

As for HD, I agree the broadcast sucks. I'll take ESPN or INHD anyday over Fox.

Easy solution: It's called "mute". No need to hear all the babble. We understand the game. If one must "hear", then find your fav radio announcer and simulcast. Works good, overseas. And oh, I like John Madden for NFL, 'cause he says "boom" and "bam" and stuff. He's a diehard lineman. He left FOX though. Wonder why? Enough of this bunch of "greatest", "best", "all-time" whatever for every play. It's nice to watch, in silence.

Yeah i hate his pointless stories, all the damn game

Remy's on the other hand are about him listening to Slash on his iPod

They seem to be Hokie haters on their website, IMO. Just look at their recent bowl predictions! No one at espn.com would make those ridiculous picks. They still have Louisville playing Miami in the Orange Bowl?!?!?!?!? Have they been watching college football this season?

Go Hokies!!!!

As far as their TV coverage, I hardly ever watch it cause I watch very little pro football. Only the Falcons so I can watch Vick.

McCarver and Buck spent most of the 4th inning of the Yankees-Angels game today talking about Donavon McNabb and the Eagles game. I seriously thought the world had ended.

Go yankeesss

your post tells us everything we need to know about why you like joe buck and tim mccarver and their coverage of the sport.

they can't get enough of the yankees.

they're both in serious loooooooooove with everyone on the team.

it's sick

Here's another vote for McCarver being a ****ing idiot. He must think that everyone watching is stupid about the game.

I don't hate Fox Sports, although I admittedly don't see much of McCarver. I know a lot of people do think he's a moron.

I watch more of their football, and I don't have a problem with their coverage. I do think the pre-game gang of Terry, Howie, etc., are awfully goofy and juvenile at times.

I like fox sports much better than bloody espn and the million adds they play

In most games the commericals are in between innings and in between quarters and after scores. I don't see how they could have any more ads except perhaps their commercial breaks may be one commerical longer. No biggie for me...

lol.. I just can't stand to watch a game on ESPN-- I like FOX's layout of everything, colors, and graphics are nice... I don't know, I just think it's pretty coo.

Just had to bring this up.

World record time here, it only took 1 and 2/3rds innings for McCarver to bring up the Yankees.

and OMFG they have a flaming ball on replays T____T just like the glowing puck *cries*

who can't follow a baseball?????
