iPhone Why does iBooks show books from my online library?

There’s a cloud sign next to a whole bunch of books in my iBooks app on my iPhone 11 Pro and they are mostly older books I no longer want in my library. Why do they show up in my library?

Just click on the three dots below the book and choose “remove”.
