Why does iPhone not have anti glare screen?

I'm really surprised that the iPhone doesn't have anti glare screen. This is one thing that I am disappointed with on my IP5. I seem to notice it quite a bit and to be honest it's quite annoying. Is there a reason it's not on the phone?

You can buy an anti-glare screen protector. I think anti-glare could be counter productive to the retina, or some would think.

Why should it? If you want antiglare then get an antiglare screen protector. No massed produced product will ever kowtow to one person's preference.

Just be aware that all antiglare screen protectors (that I've run across) affect image quality.
